Re: Wheel cleaner and bug removal recommendations?

Just got back from Walmart and picked up a bug sponge, tire brush, and wheel brush. The next time I wash the vehicle, I'm planning on pressure washing the bugs off the best I can, soaking them as much as I can, followed by this bug sponge soaked in soap and water.

This bug sponge feels like a scotch green scratchy. Is it safe for paint? It says it won't scratch and it would only be used on the front bumper. Thoughts?

It says it's safe, but from what you describe I'd be asking the same question you are.. Odds are it'll be ok as long as you dont go hard on it. But the darn thing sure looks scary. Lmao.

This is what I use for the grimy underbelly of doors & bumpers. I hate it when those parts of the car ruin my washmitt mid wash. So I just send in this mesh sponge sprayed with APC 10:1 to do the dirty work. My guess is it'd be just as effective with the car suds too.

I don't know about that bug mitt but you can always call your local auto parts store for the Meguiar's bug sponges.

I think they'll be ok. I mean I doubt Walmart would stock their shelves with a product made by their supported car care supplier and have it ruining people cars. It says it wont scratch your paint and even has the illusion of a Mercedez on the label. If it was dangerous to use I think they would've heard about it from angry car owners by now. Just make sure to try it on a test spot 1st.

[in no way am I saying I support or trust Walmart any more than I trust or care for the next place. Just sayin.]

@The Guz. I just picked these up. I ended up returning that little wash brush on a pole that work so well on the RV.. Good deal since these were the same price at only $9.99. I used the coupon and actually got $1.09 cash refund to top it off

I sprayed some 303 Fabric Protectant on them to make them extra waterproof during a wash.
