  • Need some advice on what to do next

I have the new car cleaned up:

So right now she's sitting in the garage with naked paint. She could really use a good polish treatement and swirl remover (slight swirls, but they are there).

Here is my problem and why I'm asking what to do:
    1. Cars & Coffee this Saturday and I really want to bring the new car
    2. Temp will be stuck in the low 50's all week
    3. My garage isn't heated
    4. Regardless of the weather, I don't have time for a full detail

I have a couple tins of Tech Wax 2.0, M16 and a bottle of X-Press Spray Wax I (I haven't used this ever, still a new bottle).

Since I was able to get all the surface contaminants off with clay and nano-skin, should I Just slap on a coat of Tech Wax or will the temperature hinder that idea? Maybe just do the spray wax so there is something on the paint??

Given the conditions, I'd just do a pass with the Tech Wax. It's very tolerant of low temps and hides minor defects better than many other Meg's waxes.

This video might help you. If the temp is to low, D156/ultimate quik wax may be the way to go until you are ready for a full polish.

Fingers crossed, it might be 60 on Thursday / Friday.

How does UQW compare to X-Press Spray Wax? I need to do a search, I'm sure that's been discussed already.

EDIT - that was quick and easy:

I agree with Bill. I think you'll be fine with NXT 2.0.

After it has cured (if you have time) do a test spot with your M16 and see how that plays with the lower temperatures. M16 really adds beautiful shine and depth, and is great to use as a topper for car shows etc...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

If it is that warm then NXT would be fine. As Davey points out you could top with M16 if you have time.

You can do like I did....put a heater in your garage.

I've used #16 when it was snowy and freezing outside in my unheated garage, so temps in the 50s should be no problem.
