Do I have to wash microfiber towels before first use? If so what would be best to use to wash them I have front loader type machine so does that mean I would have to go to a laundromat? And would it be a waste of water just to wash 6 towels 16" by 24"? because thats what I plan to have at the most. One of polishing, one to detail, one to wax, and one for waterless wash and wax.

Re: Washing Microfiber towels before first use?
It's recommended but you don't have to. It removes anything that is on the towels such as lint. You can wash them in regular detergent. If you dry them in the dryer DO NOT use fabric softner. Also I would recommend you pick up more towels.

Re: Washing Microfiber towels before first use?
I'm kinda on a tight budget but I found this thing called Z-wipes that comes in 24 for 16 dollars meanwhile the other brand comes in 6 for 14 dollars, I think it was Chemical Guys. But I need towels for use of polish, wax, and waterless wash. I don't know which one would be best.

Agreed with guz. Towels are an important part of keeping the swirls down to a min. But I just suggest getting a big bundle of supreme shines that meguiars offers like a 20 or 40 pack and 2 or 4 water magnets for ur drying and waterless washes.
I have 40 SS and 2 WM. along with about 20 low budget mf for odd cleaning that don't touch the paint. Also have a few terry towels as well. Don't wash mf and terry together. Just use a mild detergent no fabric softener and dry on low heat. But I take mine to the laundry mat to wash so I don't have any product left in the washer when I go to wash my clothes. I also have some meguiars 2.0 pads I wash seperatly from the towels as well. But I wash those off in the sink and then throw them in the machine. U can do a small load of towels but the advantage of having so many is the ability to have xtra on hand, not doing them everytime u wash the car, and cut down in swirls cuz using 1 towel to remove product off the whole car starts to build up as u get further into the job as it builds up on the towel.
I'm babbling here but just go with the guz says he's knowledgable and his opinion is gold.

Re: Washing Microfiber towels before first use?
If I've bought or been given off-brand microfibers, I wash once, then tear off labels if there are any and wash again. I use a liquid concentrate intended for washing microfibers and some white vinegar in the rinse.
Prefer Meguiar's Supreme and Ultimates, but they are saved for removing polish and wax, not compounds or cleaning glass. I have green colored towels for glass only, so they havent been used with compounds, polishes or wax. Green = glass, easy to remember. Greens are washed separately. I hate cleaning glass, so I take extra precautions with the towels.
