Recently picked up a 1987 Porsche 928. The paint is very tired, feels like sand paper.
The previous owner had the car about 15 years and put about 10k miles on it.
I gave it a good sudsy wash with Meguiar's Super Soap using filtered, softened water.
After drying it off and feeling how rough the surface is I figured a clay bar treatment was needed ASAP using Last Touch mixed 50/50.
Much to my surprise, the blue clay is turning pink. I thought maybe it could be from the last touch (since it's pink) so I switched to Nano Skin Glide which is blue. Nope, still turned the clay pink.
Any ideas? Could it be the paint it so dry it absorbed some Super Soap (which is bright pink) and the clay is pulling it out??
I'm thinking of using the Nano Skin for the rest of the car instead of a clay bar. Since it feels so bad (worst I've come across) I initially thought the clay would be better.
