  • Help wax on new paint

In my excitement to protect my new to me 2013 328 I used McGuire's ultimate wax. . I then found out that the dealer had repainted the hood the week before. . Now I need to remove the wax (on for 3 days) to let the paint to cure.
Steps so far: wash!, 2 applications of a bug and tar remover, wash again.

I now think I should clay bar and then Polish with ultimate Polish? . Would that be sufficient to get the UW off?

UP leaves no protection behind. You can even wash the area after applying it to remove some of the polishing oils. You can polish new paint.

You can use M205 on fresh paint. There's a vid of the Meguiars Asia dudes doing it.. I'm pretty sure you can polish fresh paint with any polish.. Just not supposed to wax or seal it.

UP is fine on newly repainted paint, do note that it leaves no protection which is ideal while the paint is curing. It has to outgas, give it 30-90 days. You can quick detail it (don't use detailers with polymer protection like UQD and M135), use regular car wash (no wash and wax shampoos).
