  • M205 & Ultimate Polish Question

I know there has been many post and read a bunch, but i didnt see what i was really looking for. My question is, Would there be an advantage or disadvantage of using the 2 products together?

I understand that the M205 will have more cut, and the Ultimate Polish will have more Oils and less cut. I was thinking about using the 2 products together? I know testing is best method but just checking with those that have more knowledge

I will be detailing a truck I did over the summer, so I am hoping that there isnt a whole lot of correction that needs to be done, but wont know until I get there to do the job. I am preping it for a parade, and want it to pop as much as possible, so my thinking was combining the 2 products together to acheive the more cut, and the more oils. Thats why i am here to seek the advice of the guys that may have tried this combo before, if so what pads did you guys use ? The truck is 2012-2013 Red Silverado.

I have all the pads I will need from the Microfiber system to finishing and polishing pads.

Products i have are the following:

    D300
    D301
    D302

    Ultimate Compound
    Ultimate Polish

    Paint Recon. Cream
    M205

Thanks for any tips and or ideas!

There are a few more that I am forgetting at the moment. But like i said just seeing if there would be a benifit or not.

It might sound obvious, but I think combining the two products will give you a cut level in between UP and M205, whilst the polishing oils will be somewhere in between too.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I think you would have great results combining the two. There is a thread on hear when Marc08ex polished his red Civic, I believe he combined M205 and M80 but I could be wrong but his results were amazing. I will see if I can find it and provide a link.

Re: M205 & Ultimate Polish Question

Here's another idea. Start off with M205 on a polishing pad and then follow up with D302 on a finishing pad.

Courtesy of Michael Stoops (Post #11). There is a typo in that is should be D302 and not D301.

There is also mention of someone using M205 and then using UP right after. You could try out your combo and see how it works. I would agree with davey in having something in the middle.

I really appreciate the responses and suggestions, and yes it makes sense that doing combo could cut the aggressiveness in half, but that might be ok, looking for more oils with what I have on hand. I'm hoping to achieve finished product in 2 steps hopefully. But hard to say without seeing the truck first.

So does anyone know if the microfiber D302 has more oils then say 205? I do have that as well. I will be unfortunately be working mostly at night this time due to time constraints. I will have my halogen there so I guess we will see how it comes out, will try to take some pictures and post them. And any other suggestions would be great.

I do have one more question, the bed is lined with either line-x or rhino line, I am planning on using the hyper dressing, I am in fear of the rain ruining this application. Will in stand up in rain for a couple hours possibly?
