  • Car Wash Shampoo Question

What is the Pro Line equivalent to Megs Ultimate Wash and Wax Soap? I just now got to use it this weekend from the bundle pack I got from WalMart and must say I really liked it. And it smelled awesome. Just wondering what the Pro Line would be since I am buying all my stuff that way now. Would D101 suit that bill? All I can find is D101 or the D110 Hyper wash? Leaning towards the D101 as that seems like a very economical choice. Was just wondering what it was compared to.

    Thanks!

      Re: Car Wash Shampoo Question

There is no Detailer Line equivalent to Ultimate Wash & Wax as none of the washes in that line contain wax. D111 is a great choice for a bulk packaged wash, however, as it's conditioners will help to maintain the gloss level and slickness that you worked so hard to achieve when detailing your car.

You can't go wrong with either D111 or D110. D111 almost reminds me of gold class shampoo. I've been using it for sometime now.

That would be the Pro equivalent to Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere, not Ultimate Wash & Wax. Very, very different products.

I've recently switched to D111 and so far and I'm loving it. Alot like the Gold Class but seems to have a bit extra punch to it.. The way the water in the bucket stays blue makes it appear to have lasting power, as long as the bucket remains grit free.

Cool. Thanks for the replies. Will probably go with the D110 and give it a try. I am finding my wallet is getting thinned out as I keep finding products I want to get. LOL. I have another detail job lined up in the next few weeks and want to get some more items. Thinking of ordering some D155 Last Touch Spray for that final finish. My aunts boyfriend wants his Porsche Cayenne detailed. It is a 2013 or 14.

Ur wallets thin just by product, and will get even thinner when u start wanting to upgrade the tools. Both definitely make the job easier and faster and that's what I'm finding out. Except I have no funds to upgrade either yet. Even a tire brush can save u time and energy! But once u get ur operation right u become so much more efficiently. And then it becomes really fun!!!

Ha, yeah, your right about that. When we got the new car with the biggest wheels I have ever owned, 19 inch, I wanted to have them clean behind them. Tried to reach around and get them with a towel and such and just not easy way. Found that Speed Master wheel brush and ordered that. Works great and has saved a lot of time and knuckles. But since you can't get a lot of this stuff in stores you kind of need to plan it because of the shipping chargers. I just ordered some more Megs Detailers Line tonight. I hope the wife doesn't go out and look on the shelf in the garage and see how many gallons I am accumulating. But I should be set for a long time. And I am using some of it too since I am doing a few jobs on the side. Also some of these jobs I wanted to get some cheaper stuff so I wasn't using my better stuff. I ordered some D155 today so I don't have to use my M135 on jobs that people really could care less about. But I have really gotten into it.

                          Re: Car Wash Shampoo Question

For sure. It all started with getting this black car. I always took care and washed and cared for my other cars but it was the new black car that brought me here and all of you guys helping me with that. And yes, it started with the Walmart Ultimate bundle pak that the Guz suggest. And that was a good start. Did the polish by hand, but kept seeing everyone talking about how great the DA was. So got a great deal on a GG DA. Still haven't used it on my own car yet, but did use it on that Tahoe and I am going to be using it on my car in a few weeks. Then I ordered some Detailers D143, D156, M135 and D161. Finding I use the QD and QW alot more with the black car so from a cost stand point it makes sense to by it in the gallon size. Then after cleaning that Tahoe and using alot of Simple Green which has always been my go to for everything I decided to order some D101 APC and give that a shot. It didn't get there in time for the Tahoe though. And I last night I just put in an order for some D111 and D155 and D120 and D163 for my personal use. The D161 is good, but it is gone from the tires as soon as water hits it so it will be good to use for cars that I am picking up to detail to give that "look". I should be set for awhile. I guess I kept looking at Eldorado2k avatar and seeing his shelf and got jealous. lol. So, yeah, I blame all of you. And if I ever make it to Cali, I am going out to one of those classes for sure. I will say, on that last Tahoe job, he did pay for my APC and a steamer, so I now have that in my supply. I am now looking at a small portable vacuums that are easy to take with me.

Ur getting there tho! Pretty soon u will order the other detailer line products just to have in the arsenal. Next step is the 5 gal jugs and the selector switch hookup in ur garage for refills, which u don't really need but sure is nice to have. But do a search for pictures of people's stash. Don't type that in there but somewhere in the old threads they have a thread if people's arsenal and although eldorados setup is sweet u will see sum that are just insane and that got me motivated. Looks like a store shelf in these people's basement and garages. Some got 5 of all the consumer line plus the entire detailer line and mirror glaze as well. But I just look to that point when I get there.i definitely wish it was sooner than later cuz detailing cars is so hard on me without the right tools and brushes. I don't move around so well and so it takes me a few days just to do a standard detail without any paint work. I don't even have a speed master brush that I so badly want and so that's my next item. And I'm only 37 but partially disabled so that's y it's hard for me to move around.

Good going tho make sure u post some pics of of the garage once everything comes in so we can see. That's how sick we all are cuz it's just a couple bottls we've all see befor but still like to look at. And quit messing around and get that da on ur car. Ur gonna love it!

                              Re: Car Wash Shampoo Question

I do hope to get to mine soon. I will get it one of these weekends for sure. I think I will be doing my aunts boyfriends Porsche Cayenne this weekend, unless we go camping. I will get a picture of my self posted for sure. I am going to have to remove some other stuff to make room for my Megs stuff. I do recommend the Speed Master brush. It works really well for cleaning barrels of the wheel. I couldn't justify the full price though. I happen to catch it on sale at AG and then they had a 20% off too, so it made it a little more bearable. Looking now though I think the blue one, it is I think called the EZ brush or something, but it is cheaper, it looks the same but is cheaper. I will probably give it a try next time. I see it on other sites.
