  • Full Power Megs APC

Is full power Megs APC pretty potent? In the past when I have had really dirty vinyl interior, seats, rubber mats, or anything for that matter, i would turn to simple green or a similar product to get things clean.

Is full power megs potent enough to get these things that are really really dirty, clean?

    Thanks all!

    Re: Full Power Megs APC

My recommendation is to use it at the proper dilution ratio of 10:1. That will clean them. No sense in risking your leather using at full strength it even at 4:1.

^ Agreed. 10:1 has been potent enough for lots of filthy things I've had to clean. You can get more or less aggressive with various tools - MF vs. cotton terry towels, softer vs. stiffer bristle brushes, less or more hand pressure.

        Re: Full Power Megs APC

Appreciate it guys, thanks a ton! Yeah, I have never used it before, I just hear alot about it on the forum. Michael I hear ya, I would never use something potent, or a potent dilution on leather. That would be bad news.

Before I bought a gallon or two, I was just wondering if it can handle some of the heavier dirtied jobs in the car.

Thankyou also Joe Dragon for your help.

        Have a great week guys!

IMO it simply cannot do what Super Degreaser can do.. No matter how hard you try to force it to substitute, you'll find yourself taking more time and working harder than you have to on those certain jobs you're talking about.. Really dirty tires which havn't been cleaned in forever? Good luck having to scrub them over and over again.. Wheel wells, engine degreasing, those rare pita stains.. APC at any dillution simply doesn't cut it.
          Just my 2 cents.

Now Ive never used either but the bottom line comes down to choosing the right product for the job. If u need to do something stronger with the apc then u might think about just going to the super degreaser or apc+. I seen in autoality they're offering the apc+ still.

              Re: Full Power Megs APC

APC and APC+ have only a few differences, and other than that, they are one in the same. APC+ is a different color, and has a different smell. They both work very similar with the differences being in APC+'s ability to be diluted further and low foaming characteristics.

I totally agree with what Eldorado2K posted. If you need something stronger, go with the Super Degreaser...just don't use it on your paint!

Thanks for the input guys. No need to answer if it's wrong to ask on a Megs forum, but was wondering how The Megs all purpose, and Super degreaser compare to Purple Power degreaser, and simple Green all purpose cleaner.

                Thanks all!

                  Re: Full Power Megs APC

I've never used purple power and it's been a long time since simple green, as my detailing products have replaced other regular household cleaners. APC is an amazing product and does perform quite well at 10:1, but some stuff just needs more. I always have a bottle of 10:1 for regular jobs, one of 7:1 when I need a little extra and one of 4:1 for nasty interior stuff (when combined with steam, it can be quite potent). However, like it's been mentioned, Super Degreaser is awesome in its own way as I would never even think to use APC on something like an engine bay, just not worth it. Super degreaser handles that kind of stuff way better.

And for your tires and even rubber floor mats, the newish non-acid All Wheel and Tire cleaner (Detailers Line) diluted down to 2:1 simply can't be beat, I don't ever use anything else on floor mats any more as it just works amazingly. Just my .02
