  • 1st detail could've been better

I detailed my new accord today and I honestly thought the finish was going to be a lot slicker. I used the clay bar, ultimate polish with the DA, and the ultimate wax paste. I was expecting to put my hand on the car and it slide off with ease. Any suggestions as to what would make it slicker? Different polish/wax?

I'm assuming that either ur car hadn't been Clayed before and had alot of containaments. Or ur technique was wrong. Pics would help somewhat, so u may need to clay it again but don't rush through it. U may also need a stronger clay. I assume u have meguiars white bar. Think about either upgrading to the meguiars mirror glazy. I suggest get both the red and blue. But start with the blue and if that's not working go to the red.

Another route u could go is to get a nanoskin claying pad. No fear of dropping the and also works with ur da to give u better results and cut ur time down as well. They have 2 different pads as well.

Another suggestion is to use iron x. It's not a replacement for clay but the 2 work very well together. And it gets all the containaments and rail dust that u can not see. For a truly clean paint job. But follow up with this and let us know how it turned out.

Sometimes, especially after detailing, my hands won't slide on anything. See how it feels after thoroughly washing and drying your hands.
