Hi I bought a set of used rims and I have some scratches and oxidation or some kinda spots on the rims wondering if there's anything I can do get rid of the scratches and spots
I imagine they could be cleaned up and polished using a chrome polish, but as far as the scratches (maybe even deep scratches) I'll have to subscribe to that.
I wonder if it's like paint and if the finger nail test comes into play here.
The scratches may be in there for good. That looks like caked on brake dust. Have you tried a chrome wheel cleaner? I'm thinking DUB wheel cleaner and DUB metal polish would be a good combo.
What a tragedy. To have chrome rims and let them look like that. But I agree with guz on the dubs, however by me u can't find it in any store. None of the auto stores, Walmart, meijers, target. So if that's the case for u to and u don't want to order it then mothers has an outstanding line of wheel polishes.
Speaking of the Dub Wheel Cleaner, I found some at my local Wally World on the clearance aisle...$3.00 a bottle. I bought 4 bottles of it, I will probably give away a bottle or two in the giveaway thread...
