  • Product Line Up

Hello Everyone! I am Navydoc76. I am stationed onboard the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67). If and when I get time off I enjoy detailing the heck out of my car. We just returned from a seven month deployment in the Persian Gulf. I know that my car has taken a beeting while I have been gone so I was going to buy new products. So far these are the steps (in order) and products I wanted to buy and use. I do it all by hand.

    1. NXT car wash
    2. Quick Clay
    3. Scratch X
    4. Deep Crystal Ststem step 2
    5. NXT Wax
    6. NXT Wax again

I want my car to look awesome and at the same time be super protected. My car is light blue in color. What do you all think?

    Hey NavyDoc76

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Your list and order of products looks pretty good. I would add only one step. After using ScratchX on the areas with the heavier marring, I would use either DC #1 or Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover over the whole car. This will further clean as well as give a rich gloss to the surface.

    So

    NXT Wash
    Clay
    ScratchX
    DC#1 or #9
    DC#2
    NXT x 2

Here is some info for using ScratchX by hand:

    I hope this helps!

      Thanks Tim,

Which one is better DC#1 or #9? Can I apply both by hand? Do you know if they are available here online? I was wanting to order today?

        Hey David,

My personal choice would be #9 Swirl Remover (M-0916) and yes it is available on line. Here is a link:

        Cheers!
