  • M100 or M101 dusting?

I love the correction that M101 produces and have not yet tried M100 but m101 dusts a lot and I would like to know if anyone has experience with m100 and know if it dusts less than m101

Also what do you guys do when the dusting gets all over the vehicle when polishing? Wipe and continue on until finished and then wash again before final polish? Or any other techniques?

What pads and tool are you using here? We suspect a DA and maybe even microfiber pads, correct? If so, and you're using M101, you are going to get dust - period. Remember, M101 was designed very specifically for use on a rotary buffer with a foam cutting pad at slow speeds. You can mitigate the dusting by cutting back on the amount of product you use for each section pass, and even using a light spritz of water as a wetting agent. But you're still going to have some dust.

M100 will not create as much dust as M101, but it will still dust somewhat. Again, limiting the use of product and using a bit of water as a supplement wetting agent can help. Personally, I love the cut and clarity I get out of M100 on a DA with microfiber pads. I have, on numerous occasions, pulled out 2000 to 3000 sanding marks with that combination and the finish was fantastic at the same time. In fact, on the last day of the NXT Tech Program we had recently I was challenged to remove 2500 grit hand sanding marks with a Rupes 21, a microfiber Xtra Cut disc, and M101. My response was that I could accomplish the task with a G110v2, a regular microfiber cutting disc, and M100. BAM! Sanding marks gone in no time. The immediate response from the one suggesting the much more aggressive process? "Geez, I need to revisit that M100". Yep.

Thanks Mike. Yes correct sir. G110v2 and mf cutting pads. That's what I've been hearing and seeing in videos about. M100 over m101. And thanks for the tip. Could I also use a quick detailer as a wet booster on the pad? Also so once the inevetible dust happens what is the best practice to continue on the project? Just wipe away or... thanks again and as always your feedback is much appreciated
