Either one would be fine. My personal preference is M26.

Gold Class Carnauba Plus is a polish wax, meaning it has polishing oils that help darken and add depth to paint, as well as carnauba and polymers to help improve protection, and yes, it has cleaners (the mildest of all cleaners). M26 is a pure wax (no polishing oils or cleaners), and it is a carnauba with a few polymers as well.

If you want something more durable, you might want to consider Ultimate Wax, or NXT 2.0.
They may or may not look as good to your eyes though. Carnaubas are said to impart a deeper, richer shine to dark colors. Some people like it / notice it, whereas others don't / don't.
It's all down to personal preference really..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Hello and welcome to MOL!
Claying prepares the surface nicely for your polish and/or finish. I would suggest to use Gold Class Carnauba Plus if you don't intend to do a separate polish step after claying. This will add depth to the dark colors you describe. If you do apply polish as a separate step then M26 would be fine or GCCP.
But the BIG question is... what about your vehicle? It needs some love too. Right?

Re: meguiars gold class carnauba plus vs yellow #26
As Coach mentioned, I think the Gold Class would be the better between the 2 if you're going straight from claying to waxing (i.e. no separate polish step) since it provides some polishing. I haven't had any experience with M26 but Gold Class is pretty much my go-to wax (even on white cars!). The deep wet shine look it provides is well worth the lesser durability as compared to Ultimate or NXT. Just my 2 cents.

They will stain trim. No white residue as long as you wipe them off. Give the car a final wipe with some QD once you are done.

I don't know if it works with meguiars ultimate black, but mothers back to black claims that if u put that on 1st it will keep waxes from staining the trim white. Me personally I'm too die hard meguiars now that I refuse to buy something meguiars already makes. But if they don't then I'm open game.
However let me know if this is true with the mothers product.

A cleaner wax is an all in one product which cleans, polishes and protects. Ulitmate polish will clean and it can also correct light to moderate swirls especially with a DA polisher. Dedicated products for a specific task will always give better results than a cleaner wax. Although the new cleaner waxes in white wax and black wax are really good cleaner waxes. It comes down to how much time you want to invest in detailing your car.
One other thing about trim. It's always a good idea to tape off trim to avoid getting wax on it. APC works well in removing it.
