  • DA question

I am planning to get my first polishing machine and im on a budget. Is the DAS6 any good? Its much more affordable than the DA meguiars offer, and I had my hands on the Rupes Bigfoot but its way to pricey for me. Additionally I get 4 pads and a backing plate with the DAS6. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Re: DA question

I heard some positive feedback about Kestrel DAS-6. It's a full potential D/A polisher capable of defect removal. You won't be able to use buffing pads bigger than 6.5" (no 7" Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 pads). Some detailers said that 5.5" pads perform best on that tool.

      Re: DA question

If the DAS-6 is a better fit for your budget, go for it. While there are other buffers in that price range, many of them are extremely short stroke tools or have very limited power. The tool you're looking at has the same 8mm throw as our G110v2 and other top line traditional DA buffers and, coupled with what looks like a good motor, it should serve you well. Products like our Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish work great with this tool, and you can even use our DA Microfiber Correction System or pro products like M105/M205 with it.

In that case, I'll probably get the DAS6!
