Just wondering if I can use mirror glaze 20 on my plastic-chrome grille, or are there better products to protect it against chips, scratches..etc?

Do you mean M20? And what sort of condition is the plastic chrome in?
M20 is a mild cleaner-wax, so it could clean up any mild water spots, stains or very fine swirls.
If the plastic chrome is already in good condition, you might just want to seal it with a sealant such as NXT / UW etc.
Either way, you can use M20, just go easy on the application method, since plastic chrome is relatively soft.Originally posted by Blueline -

Just one more thing...Not only is the plastic chrome soft, it is also SUPER THIN!

Unfortunately, no wax or sealant will prevent chips or scratches, but keeping the surfaces clean and slick is certainly a step in the right direction. Any of the cleaner waxes, including M20. are a good choice. As has been mentioned, stay away from strong abrasives on plastic chrome, use a cleaner wax regularly and you'll be fine.
