Re: can you use the smallest mf pad on the da power system?
Yes it's all useful information. But originally I was asking about the da power system I.e drill attachment tool. I was hoping I could just throw a 3 or 4 inch mf pad on that. But now that you've pointed out the fact I can change the backing plate on my da that will probably be a better option. But if I can also use on the power system (with its forced rotation) that again will open plenty of uses as well

If there is a harbor freight near you, you could go pick up their DA and dedicate it to be used with 3" or 4" pads. It's about $60.

While you can mount a 3" microfiber pad to the DAPS tool, keep in mind that on some paints this may prove to be aggressive enough to create some haze in the paint. There's really nothing wrong with that, but you will have to follow up with Ultimate Polish or similar on a softer foam pad to remove the haze prior to waxing. The forced rotation of the DAPS coupled with a pad as flat as the microfiber pad might feel a bit odd at first - some people might find it off putting while others won't mind at all. It is certainly an option, though, especially if you find you need more cut than you can get from the burgundy cutting pad and Ultimate Compound.Michael Stoops

Thanks Mike, I was wondering about this too.
(Not that I use my DAPS very often at all, it's mainly DA for me.)Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
