  • New to MOL and detailing - looking for advice on 2013 Victory Motorcycle care -

    Hi everyone,

I am new to detailing at this level. Have always kept my car clean but I have learned from reading this forum there is much more to it.

I bought my second bike last fall -2013 Victory Cross Country Tour - Sunset Red.

To date I have been keeping it clean with Wizards quick detail after every ride but I want to take care of it the right way going forward.

    Products I have purchased:

    All Meguiar's

    # 3 Machine Glaze
    # 7 Show Car Glaze
    #9 Swirl Remover 2.0
    #26 High Tech Yellow wax
    Plastix
    Chrome Polish
    Leather Care

Clay Kit w Meguiars quick detailer

A couple Even Coat microfiber applicator pads
    Ultimate wipe Detailing cloth

California Mini duster - which seems to work pretty good after a ride
I have a Porter Cable 7424 XP DA polisher
Also bought a kit of applicator pads and micro fiber cloths

    My question:

I wanted some guidance on the products I have - am I missing anything? Wash comes to mind.

What products and in what order would you recommend I use them.

I will probably use all the products by hand the first time. I don't have much experience with the DA, I do have a "couple practice cars" I can train on.

From reading the forum I have found there is a lot of info to search through

    Appreciate any help.

    Steve

As a motorcycle owner my self 1 being a 06 victory Kingpin and an owner of a of a PC 7427 also I tread my bikes just like my cars. Get some 3 or 4 inch pads. They are easier to work with on bikes. I use Ultimate Polish along with Ultimate paste wax. Be very careful with the California Duster, it can leave some scratches. I have on to. I Never us it after a ride only before the ride to get the dust off for sitting in the garage.

    Wash
    Dry
    clay
    polish
    wax
I use a leaf blower to dry the bikes. This get all the water out of all the nooks and grannies on the bikes.

    I hope this helps.
