It's been proven that a full syntethic will outlast a carnauba based wax. That is no myth.

While both GCCP and M26 are carnauba / synthetic blends, waxes like UW and NXT / M21 are full synthetics.

I have used all of the above, and on every occassion, UW / NXT / M21 has outlasted the other two.

That's not to say GCCP and M26 are inferior products - they look amazing on dark colors.

Sigh Again, Guz, Gold Class is also a synthetic wax with carnauba, as is M26 Yellow Wax. Gold Class wax will last as long as any synwax I've ever tried in the exact same conditions, and will last plenty long enough to boost it regularly with wash-n-wax, QD and/or QW. Please stop repeating this bogus myth about Gold Class/Yellow just because of the old saw of carnauba vs synthetic - Gold Class/Yellow are both.

Top Gear, yep the discussion of natural, synthetic and hybrid may be a confusing one with different vendors using well....different definitions. However, I like to refer folks to this web page for some really good information regarding Meguiar's wax selection:

Kia, don't worry about, "going to far by polishing it and waxing it". I don't think there is ever a worry about going too far maintaining a protective and high quality appearance on a black car. I like using Ultimate Wax, I think it has a nice appearance on a well polished car, prep work is the what really determines the final look. Ultimate Wax has a good record of longevity, I believe Meguiar's says given good preparation, longest lasting. Plus it will not stain trim. Good luck and enjoy the finished product.

Sounds like the perfect procedure. UP is great on black cars and does have some minor correction ability. I use it somewhat regularly on my car as it gets rid of the very light toweling marks you can see under intense light. Another great option if you are looking to save some time is to use Black Wax. It will combine the waxing/polishing step into one and it looks GREAT on black cars.

Welcome, KIA HYBRID, fellow Hyundai family owner I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you can wash your car as normal, then clay it, then polish it, and then wax with a thin layer. You can tell a car that has been polished instead of merely waxed because it generally has a very deep mirror-like wet shine, and with black, the difference will be stunning, particularly with Gold Class on black, and especially if you can use a DA machine instead of doing this by hand.

Make sure you pick up some Gold Class Quik Detailer and/or Gold Class Quik Wax and regularly "boost" your wax job with the same type of wax in spray form. This is why it doesn't matter one bit how long a particular wax lasts, and no mere wax will last with 100% effectiveness longer than a few weeks on a daily driver, anyway, due to weather and washing. I rely on QD/QW to keep my cars freshly waxed week after month after quarter. It's been over a year since I last did my compounding, polishing and waxing using a DA machine (and Gold Class wax), but the paint looks like it was "corrected" yesterday. The secret is regular "boosting"

I agree. You may want to think about using a synthetic wax (NXT 2.0, Ultimate Wax) so it lasts longer. Just something to think about since this is a daily driver.

Even if there are no swirls (which is unusual for black), UP will bring out the depth and clarity beautifully!

You should also clay before UP though...

I have a black car which is a daily drive.The paint is in good shape.Nothing is wrong.The question is that I'm about to wash it and would like to know if i'm going to far by polishing it and waxing it.Just want to keep it looking new. I will use Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner,Ultimate Polish,Gold Class Carnanba Plus Paste wax and Endurance Tire Spary Aerosol.These are all the products I will use if I wash ,polish and wax.Help me please go down the right path to keep this black car looking great.If there is another way without using all these steps let me know.Thanks in advance.
