  • Carbon Fibre Wrap - residue in wrap, how to remove

I've done the unthinkable to some... I've applied a carbon fibre wrap to a portion of my hood and the whole tailgate on my truck. I think it looks cool, so I think that's all that matters.

Anyhow, I'm not alone and a problem I've run into (and expected) is likely to affect other detailers out there.
After polishing my truck, I accidentally touched the wrap with my DA and either compound, polish or wax.. or a combination of all three. I 'should' have taped, but did not (always in a rush, now will learn from the mistakes).

The wrap is not smooth, so it actually feels like (ahem...) 'carbon fibre'. So this has trapped residue.
Anyone know how to remove the white in the wrap now?
Tried a degreaser, rubbing, scrubbing.. no luck.
Hard to see in this photo, but it is right along the edge where the red pinstripe is.

Pick up either M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner or Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner (not the cleaner/conditioner, just the dedicated cleaner) and use it along with a soft tooth brush. You may need a couple applications but it should do the trick, regardless if this is compound, polish or wax residue. Then, treat the carbon wrap with Ultimate Quik Wax on a regular basis to protect it from UV exposure.

      Thank Michael!
I would never have thought to put wax on it... but if you say so, I will try it!

Michael, I've run into a snag with this... I can't seem to find M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner in Canada?!!!
Meguiar's Canada will be here today for our seminar, so I'll ask then. Hopefully.... they can set me up!

            M30 not available in Canada
I bought a bottle of glym leather cleaner, the only thing I could find. I'll do a test spot and cross my fingers!
