  • what to charge for smoke removal

A client has asked me to remove cigarette smoke from a car. I plan to steam clean the seats, carpet, headliner, air vents. Afterwards I will apply M23.

    Questions
Have I missed anything on the smoke removal?
    How much should I charge?

    Thanks

I would want to get one of the new Meguiars odor bomb things to get through the vents...

And you can charge to try, but I wouldnt promise perfection....

I charge $15 for the ReFresh deodorizer, WITH the understanding that the only way to fully remove all traces of smoke odor is to replace interior components. Seats, headliners, carpets, dash, ect..... Smokers are more immune to the scent obviously, just as non smokers can tell immediately if the car was ever smoked in.

Make sure you pull on the seat belt and clean the whole seatbelt. The seatbelt is extended when driving but not while cleaning so you need to pull it out to get to the "smelly" part.

U must clean and scrub EVERYTHING inside the car. Something that u think is not a big deal, like he said the seatbelt, but those r the things that would keep from removing as much. I also suggest on the drivers side headliner and any plastic parts that u give this a good scrub as that's where the heavy concentration is. But my plan of attack would b steam and apc everything 1st including inside the vents as best as u can, a tornador would b ideal. 2nd is to use a carpet extractor and shampoo. 3rd use a ozone generator for minimum 1 hour. And then finally use meguiars air freshner bomb. Done right there should b absolutely no smoke. 1 other thing when doing the bomb at the end. I suggest u put the settings on heat and spray a disinfectant in the air inlet outside the car, also switch over to a/c a do the same. This will help clean the heater core, and a/c evaporator core
