So I did my father in-laws truck, left a lot of DA haze, first tried 205, took the buffer trails or whatever we want to call it, but kind of left cloudy, used the new mf polish that is supposed to eliminate mf haze, and worked great on the first run, except left little tiny like single strand webs if that makes sense but cleared the other issues up right away. Then I tried ultimate polish, left some haze, then tried d301 on a foam finishing pad, left webbing. So pads I used with product as follows,

m205 on megs yellow polishing pad, I primed the pad, didn't let it dry, didn't feel like it was dragging at all, maybe didn't work long enough? Moderate pressure medium to slow arm speed, wasn't flinging product either. DA speed was set right about 5.

New mf polish, on mf finish pad, this cleared the paint up the most. But left pigtails, pad wasn't over loaded, da was set at 4 , moderate pressure , medium to slow arm speed, didn't over work, and cleaned pad with brush. I guess the only this was the pig tails left over.

D301 on megs polishing pad tan, da speed at 4 again, primed pad, same da setting , arm speed and everything, left webbing, maybe wrong pad?

Ultimate polish, megs yellow finishing pad, cleared things up but not to much.

I am almost thinking the clear on this truck is so delicate, I used different microfibers to do the wiping for each product, the truck was paint a year ago this month, so I am at a loss, tomorrow I am going to try ultimate compound on both the yellow and tan pads to see what I can cone up with, it's the one thing left out of the trip this evening. So any ideas, and the truck was clean, and clayed the panel before I worked anything. I would upload pics, but computer is down.

That being said, any ideas, change any steps or processes that I have done? I'm hoping that the ultimate compound will do the trick but I am stumped. Can the clear be that delicate? I hope not and find the right process because this will be a twice a year job.

1967 Chevy C10. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post as well, only doing about half the truck, as I have plans later in the day but this will drive me absolutely nuts!

    Thanks again!

D301 on MF finishing pad, speed 3. Use little to almost no pressure, move at moderate speed. That is how 301 was originally to be applied. Are you priming the MF pads 1st? Make sure you use compressed air, or a brush to clean out your MF pads after each panel. If that doesn't work, try something like Color X on speed 3 on a foam finishing pad, not a polishing pad. Apply little to no pressure, moderate to fast arm speed.

Soi will post some pictures on Monday, this clear was so incredibly soft, tried different pad and product combinations again this morning. The winner, Ultimate Polish, finishing pad, speed 2-3 , light pressure, and medium arm speed. Cleaned up like a freaking champ!

Well that's good to hear. I just read your thread and was about to recommend you to try UP or M205 on a finishing pad. From what you wrote it indeed have the characteristics of soft paint. I would have thought that D302 would have been the way to go. Anyway good job on figuring it out.

The d302 cleared it up really great but left pig tails, the 205, maybe I wasn't working it the correct way, it was the first time using it, but tried going at it via directions, and peoples suggestions and it was clearing up the issue at hand and creating some spider webbing. Pads were clean, so wasn't sure why. But the UP worked great, I was really surprised by it but extremely happy, he couldn't wait to drive and found out he went and cruised for a few hours lol
