Re: SWIRL Finder LIght?
IMO, the best light to show swirls is a bright, point-source light of a cool-white temperature. Modern LEDs seem to do this well. Diffused lighting, while allowing good general visibility doesn't show swirls well.Jim

Re: SWIRL Finder LIght?
It is unfortunate that Brinkmann has discontinued the dual xenon lights that were popular with detailers for so many years. Both Flex and Rupes make swirl finder lights that work quite well (the Rupes is actually pretty stellar, but at $70 it had better be!) but there are plenty of very bright LED flashlights on the market that are extremely portable and do a great job showing off swirl marks. Holding them at a 45 degree angle to the paint, with your viewing angle just opposite that, works very well for bringing swirls to light (no pun intended).Michael Stoops
