  • Need help/suggestion

I recently joined this community and learned some detailing techniques and proper ways to apply polish, wax etc. I bought PC 7424xp and some Meguiars products to detail my car. so yesterday I washed my car with two bucket method and wanted to clay bar, polish and then wax my car first time and I was so excited.
Here comes the problem. I live in an apartment with no garage. I washed at manual car wash location and came home and parked in front of my apt within few minutes I see some dust and pollens. I pour water on the hood and clayed it. moved on the door sides again the pollens on the hood and it repeated continuously. I got frustrated and washed my car again at manual wash and applied Meguiars spray wax and went home.
My question is how do you guys to detailing outside? I mean is it possible? I red somewhere in this forum saying you can rent some place and do it if you don't have a home garage..is it true?

    Please help me out.

Spray a little detail spray on a microfiber and gently wipe the area you are going to work on. That will remove the light dust build up and allow you to work.

You could also look into using a waterless wash like D114 Rinse Free Express Wash

Yes it's possible. Just concentrate on one area at a time. For example you dont have to clay the whole car at once. But once you clay it you better plan on finishing that area b4 driving off again... So start by claying the hood, then do your polishing, then wax. Small steps, piece by piece is fine. And make sure you're doing all this in the shade. Good luck!

I do this sometimes; taking a weekend...off and on..to do the whole car. I feel I do a better job when I am not rushed doing the car on a Friday night or Saturday morning.

I deal with the same problem - spray wax is great for cleaning up minor dust, and when I clay I use soap and water as a lubricant (which is awesome). When it comes to products, whenever possible I use products that can be applied in the sun.

Sure, I will try each section at a time.
Another useful tip from my small experience if we are doing detailing outside like me, try not to detail in dry and windy conditions.

I red somewhere in this forum soap and water is not a good alternative for clay or what so ever. may be I'm wrong.
