Wow, that's pretty swirled up. You'll need more than an AIO to correct those.

I'd go straight for UC, then UP (optional), then UW.

is there something else that can be used as a AIO that corrects minor swirls or scratches that finishes well? Thinking this is the route im going to go since im only gonna get so much out of the white truck. Any other suggestions?.. looking at maybe one of these, d151,m66,swirlx (if it can be used this way),or Ultra Compound. I have looked at white wax but not sure if it would cut any and colorx really just cleans really well from what i understand.

ColorX, M06 cleaner/wax, and M66 are all very close together in aggressiveness the only real difference is in how there designed to be applied by and the product line. I also did a test/review on the white wax on a dark blue metallic with some pretty good results. See here.

As for colorX it's a great product that everyone needs to keep in ther arsenal and it's a great AIO and for scratch sentitive paints, it has got me out of a jam before where nothing else would work. It's also good for neglected paint where your wanting to do a 1 step process, as in your case.

If memory serves me right colorX and D151 PRC is the same product type in that they both are AIO that has cleaning abilities with some light polishing oils and they both do offer a protection also. The 2 difference are that D151 is made for the body job and for being used with a rotary and/or DA and has the SMAT Technology. Were as ColorX is a consumer product and is to be applied by hand orbital and DA but has DAT Technlogy.

And in my opinion if using the two in the same manner and conditions (DA W/ a polishing pad, same DA speed, arm speed and pressure the D151 would only have a little better ability at removing defects for the simple fact of the SMAT D151 PRC has. And this is my thought that using both products under the same conditions on same hood where D151 PRC could remove swirls in a section pass, ColorX could have the same effect but one would have two make 2 section passes to remove the defect.

Those are a little more than minor swirls. I would definitely start with UC an follow up with UP and UW. Will you be doing this by hand or machine?

Maybe this will help you out with the size of your pics, there not that bad, if leaving that size it would be better to be just a little wider.

Have you did a test spot on your truck yet to see if your paint is hard or a soft clear, if not grab you a bottle of scratchX to see if it can remove the swirls or scratches. Or use what ever you have in your arsenal. I think the White Wax & ColorX will surprise you in their ability when used with the proper technique.

Never thought they were that bad till I got up close in the sunlight to take pics...white does hide very well..lol. I've neglected it for awhile now and have the itch to clean it up again. I appreciate all you guys input!!

No worries. I know it probably seems like everyone has a different recommendation, but that's because nobody really knows for sure until you try.

Now it's time for you to try one of the recommendations above and see how it goes, and report back here with your results. Then we'll be able to better steer you in the right direction to achieve the results you're looking for.

had a chance to go out and get started on the truck, and wow what a difference it has made halfway through!!...not 100% perfect but some scratches were just to deep to get out. it does look 100% better!! The lighting was alittle different but u can see the difference..

i wouldnt mind getting the deeper scratches out. I used the B&S yellow pad to start with and had nice results until i made a mistake and ruined the 1 yellow one i had..was using it mostly for the worst spots. Other than that i was using the Orange pads for UC and the white pads for UP. Havent put a LSP yet. i have a black pad for that. what do you think about #26 yellow wax?. I went to local auto store today and was looking at products, and seen they had it marked down on clearence. so i asked how much and he said here its free and give me 2 bottles of it. so thinking i may use it as LSP. Also will take advise on deeper scratches if you have any!!

The #26 is a fine wax, going to be a more old fashioned carnuba wax, not the modern synthetic ones.

Well, depends how deep. A little deeper can just be more passes, little slower movement, little more pressure. For a lot deeper... could be looking at the MF system, looking more at other tools or leaving them alone.

Nice outcome. Looks much better. You will enjoy M26. You can reapply every 2-3 months and boost it in between with ultimate quik detailer.

thanks for the replies guys, Murr i went over the worst spots on these particular spots a few times and they just wouldnt come out. I know there is a few that are just to deep but, thought there were some that should come out. Thinking to either try some 105 or just buy the DAMF system.

Good plan of attack.

Pick up some M105 and try that first. If that doesn't work, you could try the DAMF system.

Thanks for the quick replies, im thinking im going to grab some D151 and go that route, and use the UC for spot correction in certain areas if needed. Will have to order it online. is there anything OTC that compares to the D151 that can be bought local and be close in comparison

If you want OTC AIO's, you might want to try White Wax, ColorX or A12 Cleaner Wax. They're all good products, although they won't provide as much cleaning / correcting as D151.
