Do d156 and UQW share the same formula?
I bought the gallon size but have not tried it yet.

Yeah, the D156 and UQW are the same.

And yeah, I apply the UQW when I am drying the car. Seems to help make drying easier, and leave some wax behind. Unless detailing after of course...

Are you concerned that the water would dilute the UQW?

I tend to dry twice... once for the bulk of the water, then a second time for a final drying. I apply the UQW during the second time, so not fully loaded with water.

And if it does dilute it, doesnt seem to effect a lot.

FWIW, D156 is the Pro equivalent to Ultimate Quik Wax. Quik Wax is a different spray wax product that contains carnauba and is not the same as D156 or UQW.

Ok so that means D156 and Ultimate Quik are the same. D156 is not Quik Wax, which is what I was hoping; Quik Wax isnt as good as Ultimate Quik Wax.

Correct, UQW is my favorite, great product. It makes your car look and feel like you just spent 8 hours detailing it if you use it on a well cared for car.

Today is warm here, current temp is 1c.
I just washed the car and applied UQW. I don't think any wax would work in this temp and spray wax is probably the only choice.

Altho I love that just waxed feeling you get with UQW, I mostly use it for the purpose of a drying aid.

BTW. Today was the first time I used d156. Great stuff. This gallon size would last me a long, long time.

                        To the OP:

Spray way is a means of 'freshening up' the wax application. While it fades MUCH faster that UPW [ultimate paste] it allows the protection of the INITIAL WAX to be intact longer. Thus, it could possibly eliminate an entire cycle of wax from the year. So one could wax three times a year, with bi monthly refreshes of spray wax [which takes no more than 10 min], rather than having to do the paste four times a year.

Also, spray wax is great in harsher winter climates because it helps to ensure maximal protection from road film, acid rain [in metropolitian cities] and nasty road salts in MUCH of the country.

Thirdly, it does give that satisfaction of a just waxed bling bling that all us addicts here enjoy so much.
