I did however pick up some M39 to use this spring to get some dried compound off of my textured plastic bed caps, hope it works!
I'm just getting back into this after a couple years or so out and been reading and studying about all the new products out and how they compare to the older products I know, and where they fall into the product lines of least to most aggressive. But I know m07 is full of polishing oils and does have a specail way of removing, Haven't bought the Ultimate polish yet but is on my list to get and play around with.

Just went and got me some test hoods and a perfect door to do some testing, Hope it helps

That's good info! I know that Ultimate Polish is derived from M205 with the main difference being that UP has more polishing oils and M205 has more cut. Also in my experience up here in MN i can get UP almost anywhere, as it is a consumer product, and M205 is a little harder to come by locally. I was just wondering if there would be any benefit to adding more polishing oils to something that already has a lot in it. You mentioned M05 though. I tried looking for it on autogeek.net and didn't see it. Maybe I need to do a little more searching. What benefit is there to M05 over M07? Is it easier to work with? Is there an equal amount of oils in it? Thanks for your input!

Try your local auto zone or the like they usally carr a good sortment of mirror glaze line, just seen that my local auto zone had M105/M205/M07/M02/M01 and some others just can't remeber them off the top of my head. M07 is better for older single stage paint and there's mixed reviews about any differences on clear coat paint. But I have used M05 new car glaze on a metal flaked clear coat paint after using mild clay and M80 and I had good outcome, basically it comes down to what looks good to your eyes. But I won't skip applying polish to any vehicle I do a full paint correction on rather single stage or clear coat. Like I mention already got me a couple hoods and a door so as soon as I can get me some new products I will be having some fun!! Hope I've helped!

Went searching for info on differences on just M05 & M07 and didn't come up with any really good articles with full description but did find this little bit of quick info.http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...+new+car+glaze

I knowed if I search long enough I would find it!
MGH-5 New Car Glaze #5 New Car Glaze is one of Meguiar's early pure polishes that's still very popular today with both Professionals and Enthusiasts. It's a pure polish and in Meguiar's terminology this means it's a non-abrasive polish. It's a cousin to #7 Show Car Glaze only whereas #7 is very oily and it doesn't really dry,

Just got the white wax last night and did buy the Ultimate compound about a month ago so couldn't wait any longer to try some of the new products out on the test hood I got the other day. Going to be pretty cool to get back into the testing/playing around with new products!

Has any one tried white wax on a dark paint before?

Yep, my wonderful wife got me a G110V2! I had to get my own pads though.

No idea what I was doing, so I ordered the soft buff. From reading it seems I should have ordered the soft buff 2?

Now I need to learn how to use this thing. Always just done things by hand until now. Any advice?

Test spot, test spot, test spot! Tape off about a 2 x 2 area on the hood, make an X with UC on the pad, set your buffer to 5 and work it up and down then left and right. Work it till its thin but still wet and check your work. If you're happy then do the rest or the car. Apply a moderate amount of pressure and away you go! If you aren't happy with the result try again and move the buffer a little slower which will let the pad work the spot a little longer. Remember to clean your pad after each panel as well so you don't get a lot of product building up in the pad.

White wax can be used on dark paint, in the same way black wax can be used on light colored paint, note that these are all-in-ones, the main difference will be the cleaner/polish proportion. So white wax will have more cleaners, black wax will have more polishing oils, so if your dark paint has swirls, white wax may actually be better.

Test spot... Great idea. I read the threads about cleaning the pads on the fly. Sounds like a good idea and easy enough to do. Thanks!

I think I've read (or at least scanned ) every thread and watched every video here I'll go look for Son1c wax YouTube stuff.

Last summer I got totally hooked on the Ultimate series products. I'd been using UQD for a while but last summer I went from compound->polish->liquid wax all by hand and the results were stunning.

I can't wait to see how they look after the DA!

Any issues using the soft buff pads (as opposed to the 2s)?

                                Wife's car - Tampa Blue 2001 Eclipse

Nothing has ever made my car look anything other than just white. The Ultimate products really made it pop. My wife said it had never looked that good.

Her car always shows off products better, but Ultimate gave it a deeper luster. It came out totally stunning.
