  • DA Power System pad life/usage

I have a question on how many pads to use. Let say I want to compound, polish, and wax a Chevy Suburban...how many pads would I need for the compound...how many for the polish? I can wax by hand...but how many would I need for the wax?

You can wax with one... same as a hand pad, not over loading it.

And polish can be easy, one or two.

But how much work does the paint need? Compounding is where fresher pads are good... and if it needs a lot of work, and a big vehicle.... and a small pad size......could be quite a few.

Ok so being I have an Avalanche..I figure 2....maybe even 3.
But I will need like 4 or so to compound it...if I ever need to.

Just in case they get overloaded, or dropped, a spare or two is a good idea.

Also, if you mean a pure polish, that wouldn't need as many. If you mean a cleaner/polish, where you are applying a bit more, and loading up the pad, that would also want a few extra, whichever type of pad you chose to apply it with.

It most likely would be the ULW. I cannot find any of the professional line stuff at the stores in my area.

Don't need the pro line. Ult wax is the top of the line at the moment, at least for synthetics.
