  • Did I waste my time?

I did a wash and dry. Then applied Xpress Syn spray wax (D156?) to the entire car. I then realized I had a little more time so I applied UQWL to the top panels only. Will that combo bond or did I just waste my time and product?

    Thanks

Should be ok... I think any difference wouldnt be noticeable... Esp if spray waxing often anyway.

according to a lot of people this is what they do, put product after product on their paint.
You put wax on top wax, so the top "layer" won't be there long due to the fact you already have 156 on it.
To me this is always a waste of time and money.
I use 156 as a stand alone wax on most of my details, it works great and is a better wax then most out there.

ok. I was misinformed. By myself
I thought d156 was a wash away after 3 or 4 washes product. I do the 2 bucket method in the warm months and a touchless wash during the colder months. I do use it after every wash (if it's not to cold) except the 2 yearly 5 step regiments.

        thanks for the input all

Are we talking about D156 Synthetic Express Wax and our consumer Ultimate Quik Wax spray, or the liquid version of Ultimate Wax? You used "UQWL" so we're a bit confused. If you used D156 and Ultimate Quik Wax spray then we sort of hate to tell you this, but they're basically the same product. If, on the other hand, you used Ultimate Wax liquid then no harm, no foul. D156/UQW is a surprising durable polymer spray sealant so it's a fantastic product to use every time you wash the car. But having it down on the paint immediately prior to applying Ultimate Wax liquid isn't going to hurt anything, isn't going to cause bonding issues, etc.
