  • which has more cut?

I am using m105 with a LC orange pad.
    I need more cut.
Staying with the same pad which would give more cut, m86 or m101?
The goal is to restore neglected paint with minor surface scratches. M105 is a little slow.

About the same, but M105 is the fastest.....

Need a more aggressive pad, something like a LC Cyan, Megs Burgundy or LC Yellow for Foam or even better MF Cutting pad...

Unless you use a rotary then a wool pad with M105...

Oh yeah, I also need clarification whether or not 101 can be applied using a DA with LC yellow pad.
I am reading on autogeek a DA and MF can be used but just want to be sure a LC foam pad is acceptable.

Now that I don't know for sure as I have never used M101 personally.

I would guess that if MF can be used then the LC yellow could also.

I have a PC 7424XP. I've also read that D300 may be the way to go with MF pads

D300 works great with the MF pads and a porter cable. There are some that use 101 or 105 with a MF pad. What type of car are you working with? It may have some hard clear coat which may need more passes.

What size pad and backing plate? If you are using a 6 inch BP and 6.5 inch pad paint correction is not optimal with a PC. i would switch to a 5 inch BP and 5.5 pads, this is all I use now. Did you mark your BP with a magic marker to make sure it is rotating and not just jiggling?

I love D300 and when I need more cut I just add some 105 on the pad, works great.

This a car thats been repainted. I'll bet the CC is not that thick.
                  I sm using a 5" BP

I already have M105 so maybe all i need is a MF pad. I dunno

A MF cutting pad will speed it up a lot...
