Nickel Plated Aluminum Wheels?

Hey gang!

We are picking up the wife's new Ford Taurus next week. It comes with nickel plated aluminum wheels. Does anyone know anything about these or have any experience with them? I am not sure of what to use to clean them. I am thinking the bare aluminum must all be coated over but how do I treat nickel? Treat it like paint?

The new non-acid wheel and tire cleaner looks nice.

This is the wheel lineup for 2014:

The Taurus has a wide, low and aggressive appearance, thanks in part to its wheels. Three 20" options are now available, including 20" machined aluminum wheels with black painted pockets on SHO and 20" polished aluminum wheels on Limited and 20” machined aluminum low-gloss wheels available on SEL, Limited and SHO. SHO and Limited both come standard with 19" premium painted aluminum wheels. SEL models have standard 18" painted aluminum wheels. 17" painted aluminum wheels are standard on SE.

Looked at the spec sheet again and it says nickel painted not plated. My face is red. Its been a long day. Lol

Plated would have been so much cooler. Lol
