  • Winter wax - which one to use??

I plan on doing my "winter detail" this weekend, and as usual I give my RAV4 a coat of wax to get me through the winter months. I don't plan on buying anything special - just using ONE of my 2 waxes - NXT 2.0 - OR - Gold Class Carnauba. Which of these two do you think would hold up better during winter?
    Thanks.

How does M21 stack up against ULW in terms of longevity-all things being equal-and appearance? I realize appearance is subjective but I think you know what I mean!

Ultimate is the most durable wax/sealant Megs has to offer, M21 is closer to NXT 2.0 in durability, but M21 can be used via rotary polisher. Ultimate would have more depth and more crisp and sharper reflections than NXT 2.0 or M21.

Regular use of UQD and UQW will really help in the longevity of the coat of wax you'll use

My favorite winter wax combo: Ultimate Paste Wax + M16. You could do two coats of NxT in your case, just wait at least 24 hours before applying a second layer.

I would go with 2 coats of NXT and top it by with 2 or 3 coats of GC.

Wait 12 to 24 hours between coats.

            Maintain with UQD and UQW.

What I did this year was go with 2 coats of UW and 3 coats of M26.....

ULW should hold up better than M21, but that depends I suppose...

I recommend topping a sealant like M21 with a true wax like M26 though for added protection.

5 coats? My understanding is the purpose of a 2nd coat to ensure coverage. I am not sure additional coats will enhance durability.

There are no cleaning agents in the LSP's that I am using so they can be layered.

I would go with UPW or ULW to get you through the winter and some UQW to boost after washes. Save the nubas for the nice weather.

Our winters in NC aren't too bad so M26 over ULW is a good option for my Jeep that's kept in the garage, but for the Truck that sits out in the weather I used NXT and now ULW..
