When im polishing my metal pieces such as chrome with the medium cut I see black stuff on my rag. Should I keep adding metal polish until there no more black stuff on the rag? Can I still use the same black spot on my rag on another section of my chrome polishing it?

Re: metal polish black stuff....
If you're seeing black residue on your applicator when polishing chrome, then what you're seeing is dirt being lifted from the surface and the extremely fine texture of any surface defects. That should go away very quickly when working on chrome. When polishing bare aluminum, magnesium, or even brass, copper and silver, the black residue is actually small amounts of the metal itself (or a component in the metal) that is being removed in the polishing process. It will take a very long time polishing to make that stop happening, but it's nothing to worry about and you don't have to polish until no more residue is present. Even a highly polished but bare billet aluminum piece will result in black residue; it's just the nature of the material and the process.Michael Stoops
