  • Does Meguiar's still has pure polish oil product for consumer?

Hi there. I am new to here. I've been browsing around in this forum and I can't find the infor I want so I have to ask here.

    My question:
    1) I am looking for a pure polish (with no abrasive ability) product from Meguiar's. At first I discovered the Step 2 of Deep Crystal Polish is a suitable consumer product for me but it was discontinued. So I would like to ask does Meguiar's comes out with something else to replace the Step 2 Deep Crystal Polish consumer grade product?
I need something that has no abrasive as I plan to use the pure polish product about twice a month, maybe more. I am the kind of guy who like a wet look and shinny surface. And I am using hand application only as for now.

    2) The closest Meguiar's product of pure polish that still in production which I can find is the professional line M7 Mirror Glaze Show Car Glaze. Is this the only option I left with? Kind of difficult to find professional line product around my place.

    3) If I was to wax or put sealant on the car, do I have to remove the polishing oil on top of the car first? Says for example, I use Ultimate Polish, and then now I wish to put a sealant. Do I need to clean the Ultimate Polish oil first? I asked because it feels like any polish contains oil, and oil kind of make stuff (sealant or wax) difficult to bond on top of it, making the product (sealant or wax) does not last long. Not sure my guess is valid though.

BTW for your information I am driving a metallic silver car, repainted recently.

Deep Crystal Pure Polish is still very much in the market, Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is the one that was discontinued.

And no, you don't want to remove the polishing oils. As far as meguiars is concerned, they recommend or there is no real issue using their wax/sealant on top of polishing oils. And as for your repainted silver car, don't wax for 30-90 days, paint needs to out-gas in that period, so just use a pure polish or M80 Speed Glaze. It offers some protection while allowing paint to out gas, don't use any wash and wax type of product, keep away from Ultimate Quik Detailer, the polymers in it may hinder the outgassing process.

Hi ffboy, thanks a lot for your reply.

When you said Deep Crystal Polish is still very much in the market do you mean Meguiar's still produces it or Meguiar's discontinued it however it still has a lot of stocks in the market and will take some time before they are finally sold out completely in the world?
Because in my place here (I am not from US, I came from Malaysia, nice to meet you ) I was informed by a Meguiar's staff (or more like a staff from the official distributor in Malaysia) that Deep Crystal Polish was stopped. But after reading your reply I am not sure whether he means Meguiar's discontinued it or I cannot find it simply because the distributor does not import them anymore.
I never seen this product before in any shop I visited. I see a lot of Ultimate Polish but no Deep Crystal Polish.

Thanks for the advise on the newly repainted vehicle paint care. I am aware of that and is currently painfully waiting until I can touch my car. Meanwhile I do some reading homework in this forum .

Is M80 Speed Glaze pure polish only or contains abrasive?

M07 Show Car Glaze or M05 New Car Glaze is probably your best way to go. M80 does contain some abrasives. A similar product to M80 with a less abrasive content is M03

          Thanks Bill for informing.
Usually where you guys get professional line product from in US?
Is quite difficult for me to even have a chance to see any professional line products in my country. I think I need to give the official distributor a call.

Around here, M07 is a popular enough product that many of the auto parts stores have it on the shelf, even those who don't stock the Meguiar's Professional line.

That is indeed a convenience that I wish to have over here.

              One question:
Both M07 and M05 has the word "glaze" in their names. I knew Meguiar's is strict in the use of terminology, but I also read that there is a kind of product out there in the market, commonly known as "glaze", which serves to fill up scratches so that the car has show car finish. It will not last long, but good enough for an exhibition purpose. Do the M07 and M05 belong to this kind of filler type of product?

Yeah, the oils that are left behind can act to fill some minor swirls.

"Glaze" and "polish" both have a wide spectrum of uses in the industry. I've been a M07 user since the 70's and still use it regularly on the ancient OEM lacquer of my El Camino. I'm in the retail auto business and I've seen tons of products that are primarily shot-term gloss enhancers and fillers. M07 and M05 do fill minor defects to a lesser degree, but they're much better as gloss enhancers, especially on older, parched paints, due to the high oil content.

Sorry I do not understand which Meguiar's product you mean. Is there a typo?

It is a different brand of product, might not be available in your area.

But just something else that is called a polish....

I see. Now that is really confusing at first. Terminology is really a chaos in detailing world. Thanks for informing.

hi. Can I use Deep Crystal polish for single stage paint (paint without clearcoat)? Does it remove any paint? Same question about Deep Crystal Carnauba wax.
                            Thnx

                              Guys,
I have checked Autogeek and the Meguiars online site. Neither have M5 listed.
