    BINGO!

The sun is truly a deal killer. Find a way to either get into the shade or garage.

I should clarify about my use of a "worn out dish towel." Yes a cotton dish towel that the 'female half of the household' has relegated to me, it's not thread bare, just not as thick and heavy as a new one. But absorbent and soft as anything I've been able to try (or use) in the past. I just can't get MF towels to work that well for me (on windows etc).

Better to apply a glass coating, then the cleaning will be easier, even with a mild cleaning liquid you can manage to clean.

Yeah doing it in the sun will give you issues. I typically use a micrfiber towel with a light mist of stoners to wipe the glass and follow up with another microfiber to remove any residue. You may have to go over it a couple of times just to be sure. The last time I went to pep boys I decided to pick up some of these peak towels and give them a shot. They actually did a real good job cleaning the glass.

    These are what I bought

I also use Stoner's (for the inside of the windshield), but have no problem at all with streaking.

For every other window, Meguiar's Perfect Clarity.

The people before I took over the job I think they used a wash and wax soap on the vehicles. But it also smears on the inside of the windshield too.

Best cleaner is Optimum No-rinse. I use it with a mitt and a waffle-weave drying cloth. I know it works well because I can hear "squeaking" when I clean the glass. No streaks and easy to mix.

What works for me is using a glass specific MF (the one with a very tight weave) together with Perfect Clarity followed by a final wipe down with a clean, dry Water Magnet.

Using less product, or a heavy dose then a final cleaning with less can work.

Or clay, some UC/#105.. all good options to try.

I use Sprayway glass cleaner and never have any issues with streaking. I also use my MF glass cleaning towels that are awesome. I sell them on my website and ebay too.

Or you can give clay a try or if needed, dawn or some dishwashing detergent to remove any coating or oil that may have caused that streaking.

The windshield is the only thing that steaks on me no matter what I use or how I apply it. For the others I use a mf towel folded in half and half again. Spray one or two sprays and wipe on glass. Use other side to buff dry. Works great. I have come to the conclusion that the windshield has some type of factory coating or something. Going to eventually compound with da and see what that does to it.

Our Fast Glass cleaning cloths are exactly what you need for fast and easy 100% streak free glass. I expect when you first open the package and view them you may have the same first reaction I did. "What did I just buy?!" They are very unassuming at first view but don't judge this book by its cover! The first time you wipe them across the interior of that hazy windshield or some other dirty surface all doubts will be put away! The day I received these cloths I gave them a thorough testing. I attempted to tear one to no avail. I held it up to the light to inspect the fibers, and finally set them loose on the interior of a hazy windshield. Incredilby easy to use with no chemicals needed! I simply wet the entire towel and then wrung it out completely! After that well... Take a look through the pictures and see for yourself! I simply wiped the surface and within seconds it was dry without not a spot, smear, or any haze to be found. I simply flipped the towel as needed and was done almost as quickly as I had started.

A lot of glass streaking problems are from using too much product. Perhaps try using less?

I use MF towels - one to apply, one to buff off - is that what you're doing too?
