So I wax using ultimate paste wax on my crew cab. It was about 13 degrees Celsius (58-60F?) it was a little humid out. Nearing the evening, 4-5pm (Saskatchewan) and by the time I was done applying a very thin coat all the way around my truck where I started was VERY hard to take off. I was applying a very thin coat that you could barely tell was there. I'm wondering if it was hard to remove due to cold and humidity. Any suggestions? I'm wanting to keep my truck waxed in the winter and am concerned about the wax properly curing if I wash my truck then bring it in a heated garage and dry and wax it then after It's all waxed how long until I can safely take it outside into the lovely -15 to -30 degrees Celsius weather that Saskatchewan provides all winter. Thank you for your input

Re: cold cute time upw?
UW, both liquid and paste, is different than other waxes. The drying time is much shorter and you are supposed to wipe it off much sooner.
Other waxes, like NXT, I would apply to the whole car then wipe off starting from when I started.
For UW, I would start with 2 panels, then wipe off the first panel, then apply wax to the third panel, then wipe the 2nd panel, so on and on.

Re: cold cute time upw?
My understanding of cure time is probably different than yours.
Cure time: The time it takes for the wax to bond with the painted surface properly.
Dry time: The time it takes for the wax to dry before wiping off.
So, you are referring to the dry time, not cure time.

And what I'm wondering most of all is IN WINTER if I wax my truck in a heated shop how long should I leave it in there before I can safely take it out I to the freezing cold Saskatchewan winter. So the wax is fully cured and ready to do its job

Re: cold cute time upw?
Most people work on a 12 hour cure time for UW.
Give it 12 hours and you'll be fine IMO.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
