Apologies for the late reply here (just got back from Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas) but I feel obliged to chime in since I was specifically asked to. But biased???? Me???????
OK, all kidding aside, if you have not yet tried Ultimate Wax in paste form, you really should. Yes, it might be a bit easier to use than M16 but it shines like crazy and can really make metallic on dark paint pop in a big way. It's also our longest lasting, best protecting wax/sealant. While much of the above is our official company stance, it's also my personal experience and that of even many high end, elite detailers around that country that I've known for quite some time. Hands down, in our lineup, it would be my replacement for M16.
Now, stepping outside our line, any of the expensive higher end carnauba waxes are going to be "beauty treatments" for the paint and won't last long at all, especially under harsh conditions. While many of them do indeed look fantastic (with looks being very subjective, of course) the price is often a bit hard to swallow. Unless you don't mind spending $40 for 3 ounces of product or $200+ for 8 to 10 ounces. There is a time and place for these, to be sure, but most likely not on a daily driver.
As for the Collinite options, while I do have some in my possession I haven't used it yet. But I don't recall ever hearing/reading anything truly negative about them other than a sometime finicky application process. That seems to be easily overcome by either letting the container of wax sit out in the sun to warm it up, or directly heating it up by letting it sit in a pad of very warm water for several minutes before use.
Sorry to hear about the break in - it's really sad to think that some have such little respect for other's property. Glad to hear they didn't do anything to your animals or vehicles though.

A question to Mike Stoops, wanted to get your opinion on Ultimate Paste Wax's ability to resisit etching from bird bombs and other environmental fall out. Obviously, alot of us on MOL frequent many detailing sites, and some sites have had conversations on the protective abilities of carnauba based waxes vs. sealants for bird bombs and other types of fall out. Many seem to conclude sealants while lasting longer don't have quite as much protection from these types of exposure. I realize many factors play into this, but wondered what yours, or Meguiars thoughts were on this. In my experience, I have not had any issues from using the Ultimate Line of sealants, including UPW, ULW, UQW and UW&WA vs a carnauba based product.
Parts Classifieds - Meguiars #16 Professional Wax BNIB - I've got a brand new can of unopened Meguiars #16 professional paste wax. This is exceptional wax and high recommended by Jeff (GoFast908z) on here. You cannot buy this wax anymore however. I bought these 2 cans from a tip I received from Jeff awhile back and...

My experience with one type of bird (seagulls) and likely a similarly acidic dropping from bird to bird. Topping can, IME, offer somewhat better protection than a sealant alone but this is not immune to damage. I would expect better protection from a thicker coating type of protectant but I have no first hand experience that this is so.
I have two new tins of M16 in my stock and I still top my vehicles during the winter months to limit the damage from salt and brine.
That said, during the winters I use a weekly touchless auto wash and re-apply D156 (UQW) after each wash to maintain a slick layer of protection. Fortunately, I no longer need to be in that location so bird droppings are now less an issue.
My typical wax routine is UW quarterly followed by at least weekly D156. This delivers a nice look, slick paint and good protection. My tins of M16 now sit in a cool cellar during the summer months awaiting a late fall use.
