Detailing by hand vs. using PC

I've always taken care of the exterior of my vehicles by using Meguiar's products by hand.

Wash
Clay (if needed)
Sctrach X on isolated areas
DC1
DC2
DC3 (replaced by NXT tech wax)
Quik Detailer in between waxes

I've been considering getting a PC but I have a few questions:

1. What are my "electronic" options (i.e. Dual Action polisher or otherwise)?

2. Can the products listed above (DC1, 2, and 3) be applied with this tool?

3. If the answer to #2 is "No" or there are better options, which product replaces each? For instance, M(fill in #) replaces DC2.

Mike, as a side note, the Meguiars accronyms on "Meguiars Online Acronyms - With Product Links - Update 04/10/05" does not link to the product. Could this be because the Meguiar's website was updated?

Yes, the new website has made all the previously posted links useless. We will have to re-code every link that went to Meguiar's.com by hand, or just forget about them.

1. You have several options. What are you wanting to spend? This should help decide what option you want to invest in.

Another thought is how much experience do you have with the different types of buffing machines?

To start with I opted for the G-100 Dual action polisher from Meguiar's. This machine has a lifetime warranty.

One day I will try the rotary.

2. For the DC I know an orbital or dual action would be fine. Not sure about a rotary though.

3. The swirl removal properties is very minimal for the DC products. Depending on what defects your trying to remove you could try #80 or #83 for more severe defects.
