#80 with a finishing pad

I was wondering if anyone has used this combination? I might be detailing a coworkers car that needs only a very light cleaning, and the look that #80 has would really bring the color of his car alive. Using the philosophy of using the least aggressive product, #80 and a polishing pad might be more agrressive than what is needed. So I thought that #80 and a finishing pad might do the trick, just wondering if anyone has tried this.

Haven't tried it myself but I have applied #80 by hand with a foam pad, so I don't see why it wouldn't work if you only want very light cleaning. You'll still get the full effect of its 'glazing' properties so why not.

thats what I use on my black truck. I can't seem to get away with a polishing pad alone on my truck.

Given the nature of finishing pad, it's very soft and will not harm the finish. You should try #82 rather than #80 to get rid very light swirls.
