I'm brainstorming winter maintenance routines, and thought 301 (little sling, little dust, fast wipe) might be a lot faster than 26. Have a jug of 21 also, but rubber and plastic not so happy with it in a get it on fast environment I expect this winter.
Was planning on doing some test areas soon so if there polish in 301, no point wasting time with 7.
What exactly are you working on?
For a winter "coat" I'd go with a synthetic, M20, NXT and the like.
I love 301 but, I don't know about it's durability. It's main feature is "easy wipe off"
I'd coat if I lived in bad weather.
D301 is a cleaner wax so it could remove the previous layer. Since you are doing a winter routine, I would start with a cleaner wax like D301 to start with a fresh surface and follow D301 with a coat or two of NXT, UW or M21. UW will not stain the trim and it's the longest lasting wax. Then you can maintain with D156 or ultimate spray wax.
OK. Now that I know 301 is cleaner wax I have to decide whether to use it or M7 prior to M21 then dig
Was trying to come up a fast way to keep waxed in winter without buying more wax/sealant products. Cleaning off road salt and related **** gives me impulse to get some wax on afterwards.
I guess I'm old school but spray wax (reminds me of drive thru car wash wax but it isn't) hasn't made it into my inventory. That's why I was hoping to use something with the application characteristics of 301 in lieu of purchasing quik/spray wax. If I go thru this process a dozen times (for example) this winter, it'll be quite a few bucks to spend on spray when I have 64 and 128 oz jugs of 26, 301 and 21.
Also D156 is an awesome wax!
How much wax do you think you are actully leaving on your paint? A micro thin layer is all you leaving on your paint. So a spray wax still waxes your paint.
Detailing technologie is very advance.
J767- Just for winter, M21 base. They like to spread salt here in winter, usually rains and then sprays your black car from roof to wheels with white/gray sticky junk. The roads dry then dust it on your car for max irritation. Every time I wash this junk off I want to apply some kind of maintenance wax.
