I currently have nxt 2.0 and ultimate paste wax in my arsenal. I currently use the nxt on anything with metal flake as it seems to bring out the sparkle and the other on gloss paint in my opinion. My question is can someone explain the difference in all the waxes? Minus cleaner waxes. What are the order of shiniest, longevity, wax vs sealant.

Re: question on the various waxes
Some of this is going to be subjective. But IMO:
- UW is the most durable
- NXT gives a crips, bright, sealant-like shine,
- UW gives a darker shine (on dark paints) but still sealant-likeOriginally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: question on the various waxes
UW is very durable and long-lasting - it's a synthetic. It gives a nice, bright, glossy shine on my jet-black paint. However, for a rich, deep, almost liquid shine, it's hard to beat carnuba. When I have the time, I layer gold class over the UW - best of both worlds.

Re: question on the various waxes
Synthetics are sealants. They last longer than carnauba. Durability depends on the surrounding environment. It could be 3 monhts or up to 6 months. Using a spray wax helps extend the life of the wax.

Re: question on the various waxes
Ultimate wax is the longest lasting wax that meguiar's offers. M21 and NXT are right behind it. Carnauba's could be about a month or 2.
