    Great Example of improper washing and care

    Here I bring you a 2002 Porsche Boxster. Beautiful car, just don't get too close or you'll get sick and throw up. This car is for sale by owner and it's trashed. I will be contacting them before they sell this car to a poor soul who doesn't know how to care for it. I am also interested in purchasing this car to of course, to have and to hold till bank repos it from me, lol. This thing needs a nice LONG paint correction. The first couple photos and from the road driving by look nice right?? Sorry to force you all to see the upclose and ugly.

    This is what happens when you use automatic brush car washes. the brush in the do it yourself bay or plain 1 bucket methods at your house, dragging towels across soft paint like this will scratch it, hell looking at it will scratch it. LEARN proper techniques AT HOME or find a professional detailer to take care of your baby for you.

    I'm not even a Porsche fan, but I some how have to get ahold of this car, either buy and resell, or get the owner to let me fix it up right, so when someone stops by to look at it, they actually want it. He's not going to get asking price on the window from me. I know that. lol

    I'm guessing this is just a toy in someone's collection of car toys and has enough to drive. I'll find out soon.

    That's why the DA polisher and polish were invented. In the right hands it will look amazing.

      Dang that looks rough!

      Having said that, I'm sure you could work your magic and make it look beautiful again! Might be a buck in it for you if you buy & re-sell.

        Yeah I thought about the buy and resell. IT's the bank that has to finance it for me first off, lol. I will be calling Monday to talk with them.

          I've thought about doing buy and resell jobs, especially over winter when things slow down a bit for me. It would probably be worth and I'm sure you could make a little $$$ off it, especially on a car like this Porsche. The biggest thing in my way is the sales tax I'd have to pay when buying it, eats a big chunk into profits; is there a way around sales tax if you're buying and selling, or do you need some sort of buyers license for something like that?

            That's a sad sight... Good luck with paint correction, hopefully you'll get great results and make that car look the way it should, shiny and swirl free.

              FYI: Not true, they were originaly sanders until Meguiar's made them into polishers for cars.

                That looks pretty good for 81000 miles and not a single proper wash. I would have expected worse. The paint is still reflective.

                  I'll be honest with you guys, it doesn't look too bad. Just wash her using the 2-Bucket Method and then UC/M105, UP/SwirlX/M205, then Wax. The wheels need a touch up though... I don't know if my views are bad, but it seems like that's an afternoon detail in order to get a very good shine and correction.

                  Smooth as Glass is an old standard, the new standard for paint texture is Meguiar's Ultimate Quality...
