  • Fresh Paint

I have a fresh spot repair on a quarter panel. The paint work is great, but there are some small light swirls. Is it safe to use ultimate polish now? I do not want to use anything that would keep the paint from "outgassing", but since I'll be working on the swirls by hand with a foam applicator I thought it may be easier at this point while the paint has not fully hardened ( about a week old ). Thanks for your help!

I would wait until it fully cures. I waited a month before I touched my aftermarket hood with any products.

There are some products you can use now (can't remember which ones).

If you do a search, you should find more info - it's been covered many times. Even look at the threads in the "Similar Threads" section at the bottom of this page.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Thanks for the tips I found in the other threads you referenced. UC & UP are safe to use. I did some "finesse" work with UC first and then UP by hand. Came out looking great ( except for a few very tiny flecks of dirt I hadn't noticed before). I topped it off with #7 glaze, also safe to not seal the paint. Now the long wait to seal and wax!!!
