  • I need "the answer" if you have one !

I purchased "Endurance tire spray" anyway i spray my tires and allow them to sit for at least 15 minutes like it says , yesterday i sprayed my tires and went shopping and came out(it was 85 degrees) over an hr later and ,wiped the wheels and drove away when i got home product was all over the sides of my car and windows, i wish i could figure out what i'm doing wrong or is there no answer to this !

Just a guess but if an hour later you had to wipe off excess, you are using too much product.
In addition, did you clean the tires before applying? Should apply on clean tires.

Perhaps switch to the endurance tire gel and apply with a foam applicator.

I didn't have to wipe them off i chose to, I seriously doubt having clean tires are going to make a difference as I said I have only been using this stuff a short time and each time I end up with the spray off effect but I'll try it, the weather is not a factor as this was not the first hot day. I was hoping for answers that were productive, in ways i can eliminate this issue, oh well, thank you and God bless.

I think you may be better off wiping off the excess after 5-10 minutes, and THEN letting the car sit for an hour or so. Perhaps you can try that.

Also, how thorough are you at wiping the excess? Sometimes you have to get into all the little grooves etc.

Too much product, and/or the product not drying completely and non-clean tires would probably be the top reasons for sling, so I think the previous responses were valid. We don't know all the variables to your situation, so we need to work things through and negate different things.

I'd try cleaning your tires really good, letting them completely dry, then apply the dressing with some sort of applicator so it's not too thick and so that excess doesn't sit in the tread (a possibility when you simply spray it on the tire). If you can do this in the evening and let the car sit overnight you'd have the best chance of not having sling. (Although this shouldn't be needed, at least you can try and get an application to stick to the tire and then work your way from there).

There are many factors that go into sling (or the lack thereof). Tire cleanliness, tire wetness, application method, product, temperature, tire tread, and probably more). Once you figure out what works for your specific situation, all you have to do is repeat. We're all here to help each other; good luck!!

NP, We're all here to help each other out. This hobby is an art, not a science. There's no "right answers", so you gotta find "your right answers" and that's usually different than the guy next to you and that goes for just about everything from tire sling to polishing spiderwebs out of your paint.

Re: I need "the answer" if you have one !

I'm not a pro but I did noticed that when I used the spray, no matter what I did it slung. I tried to wipe it with mf and still slung. Sprayed it on at night and wiped excess and let dry for at least 15 hours and still slung. I even tried wiping it off with a tire applicator and still didn't work.
I switched to the gel and a tire applicator and it worked. I'm not sure if its just the spray puts out to much product or what but for me the gel works a lot better

One of the great things about Meguiars is the availability.
Check Walmart, Sears or your local auto parts store.

The most common reason for sling I've found is that there is too much product left on the tire Most often, this is because the tire has fine sipes that get loaded up when spraying a product. Use a nylon brush or an old cotton towel and wipe out the excess product from these sipes and the sling will not happen.
