  • Water marks on vinyl decals?

Hey guys, I have a mustang ive had stripes on for 3 years now. They have been in perfect shape up until a couple weeks ago. Something happened all of a sudden and now they have these water mark type spots on them. When I wash them these marks just don't go away. Hopefully I can use some specific cleaner on them to have them look perfect again? What do you guys recommend? Also in the future am I able to wax vinyl decals?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

That is an excellent thread. Thanks for the link. What can I use to protect the stripes in the future?

That thread is a good example on what can be done if required, but I think it's a bit drastic to jump straight to M105 on vinyl.

I'd start with something less aggressive if you have it...

Oh, and yes you can wax over them in future.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Right now all I have is car wash and wax, maybe it might be time to bring it in to the detailer

Hello Kev and WELCOME TO MOL!!!!!

The Green Hornets vinyl was in really bad shape and needed a wool pad to remove the dirt and polish it up to a "nice" shine.
I did another one "Bumble Bee" that wasn't to bad and closer to what you have

Here's the link to that one.

So try the above method, that be more suited for your needs.

Remember that you'll need to find the correct techniques for your car.
Just because I did those two doesn't mean your is the same.
Do test spots first, just like I did, to figure out the right combination of product, pads and techniques.
