  • Degreaser question

Does simple green degreaser remove wax? I like to use it for my wheels, wonder if its good to use for bugs, and lower body just behind the wheels.
Am i obsessed?? A car is the second biggest financial investment for most people, why not keep it looking better than new?

I could be wrong but I think any degreaser can/will remove wax. Hence the reason not to use dish soap.

But still safe to use on wheels?

This is just me but I would stick to a dedicated auto product. I would be willing to use under the hood and on tires but as far as wheels I would stick to wheel cleaner for soiled wheels and just your car wash mixture for regularly maintained wheels.

I have never personally used it but simple green does make a degreaser specially made for automotive use. I know they sell it on amazon

Yes, it removes wax, and it will be fine to use on most wheels. Cast, clear coated and chrome should all be fine to Simple Green. I wouldn't use it on polished aluminum, though. In the early 90's, it was my go to wheel cleaner. Now since most wheels are coated and the aftermarket coatings and waxes are so good, you shouldn't need to use much more than car shampoo on your wheels once you get them clean.
