  • ultimate liquid wax vs m21

What is the difference? Home uses, everything from a daily driver to a 56 show truck. Been detailing for years and am comfortable with my rotor and also have a da.

    Also m105 m205 vs UC?

and for my boat after m67 should i use m45 or straight to m63?

Well, the #21 2.0 can be applied via rotary.

The Ult. Wax is recommended to be applied via DA, though some people will try it with a rotary I'm sure. But it is more durable than #21, and offers more protection.

#105 is stronger than UC, though both could be considered stronger cleaners.

Then #205 is a little stronger than Ult. Polish, and both would be on the milder cleaner/polish side.

The M45 would be optional... depends if you want the best results or not. But if the surface were older, or more sun exposed, some more polishing oils wont be a bad thing.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. So if my paints are in really good shape i am probably better off with uc up? Actually all ultimate stuff? I have never used any thing m=but the mirror glaze products before.

A lot of the 'Consumer' line of products is meant for hand or DA use, and may not perform as well, or work as easily with a rotary.

Of course if everything is in good condition, you are more likely to get a better finish with a DA anyway.

For people working by DA, having UC for a strong cleaner, either #205 or Ult. Polish for the mild cleaner/polish, and then wax of your choice would be good for 90% or more of situations, and give real nice results, esp if just maintaining, and the occasional friends car.

And of course claying first, if you havent before.

Ya im new to clay. I tried it once and not sure what i thought about it. Ive done some reading on here and i think i understand it now, above/below. It just seemed like an extra step at the time. Are there and good how to videos on it?

Also on my 56 f100, the paint is very good, no swirls, just a few chips/scratches i need to work on and its a bit "dry" kinda. What would be the best stuff to use on this?

            This forum is awesome!

Re: ultimate liquid wax vs m21

Well, dry could mean it needs some more polishing oils. Ult. Polish has a lot of oils, and something like the Deep Crystal Polish or #7 is purely oils.

Also, UC is a bit more lubricated for use on drier paints.

#80 is actually a milder cleaner/polish that was formulated for single stage paints, and could be a good option also.

As far as the steps to take, it depends on the situation a bit. If it just needs a regular detail, should be ok going through the regular steps, just adding the pure polish after the cleaner/polish if wanted for more oils, then wax.

If it was worse, you can actually apply a nice coat of #7 to the car, let it sit a while, add more if it seems to soak in... then remove it, and do your detail after.
