  • New Black Toyota Tacoma

    Hi everyone,

This is my first time on the forum in a while and I come with questions about a new black car. I just bought a new Toyota Tacoma in Black. The truck will be my daily commuter and I unfortunately do not have a garage. I'm looking for tips on a wash/wax plan that will help minimize swirls and keep the car looking as new as possible for a while. I do have a Meguiars buffer but I am not 100% confident in using it, especially on a new car. Any advice would help!

    Thanks,
    Ryne

    Re: New Black Toyota Tacoma

Well I'm assuming you know how to wash it since you've been here a little while.
With that being said the Ultimate Line is your friend.
You can use all those products by hand.
And I'd go with the new Black Wax, I love it.

      1. Wash - Gold Class soap, Grit guards, 2 buckets, good quality towels, etc
      2. Clay - smooth Surface Clay
      3. Black Wax
      4. Wax - Ult. Wax

makes for a good quick detail.

I dit almost exactly this with my metallic black ford.focue, except I used gold class carnaube plus paste wax instead of ultimate...

And to maintain the wax layer, u can use ultimate/gold class quick wax to boost your protection after every wash.

Thanks for the quick responses. Any tips on how to keep the swirls at bay? I realize that it will be nearly impossible to keep them completely hidden since it is a commuter / not garaged at all.

Really it is just using good quality mitts, towels... 2 buckets, Grit Guards... using the right soap dilution... just doing the basics right helps a lot.
