  • Ultimate Polish for Jeweling Paint

I have a black accord, which has paint that is notoriously soft, similar to BMW jet black. I detailed it with Ultimate Compound and M205, finishing with Ultimate Paste Wax... about 12 months ago. Well its due for its yearly detail. Given that the swirls & oxidation arent bad this time around, im looking for a little more gloss. How about this procedure using a Porter Cable 7424xp

    Wash - Meg's Gold Class
    Clay - Meg's Claybar kit
Polish - HD Polish w/ LC Polish pad
Jewel - Ultimate Polish w/ LC Finish pad
LSP - HD Poxy w/ LC Wax pad

My main question is: Is Ultimate Polish light enough to "jewel" the paint? Im aiming for a similar finish to Menzerna SF4500 (PO85rd).

UP should work fine, it's more about technique then the actually product your using.
UP is the consumer line and Menz is a pro line so really the comparison is like apples to small apples. Kinda the same but one is better then the other.
But you should be fine you might just have to use more UP and work it more to achieve the Jeweling you want.

Im doing a jet-black BMW also, would this plan of attack work? Also, will the oils in UP create any issues with HD Poxy?

I don't see why this would cause a problem.
a Polish is a Polish in an LSP is an LSP.
they are made to work together.
