I just did my spring detail (yes a little late) and I am still amazed at M16. Last time I used it was November and it was still doing it 's job, albeit it not as well. It is such a shame that in the name of progress???? and the environmental nutcases, a great product is no longer made. Thankfully I have a small stock on hand. A little clay, ColorX, and M16 is all that is needed, and now ColorX is even hard to find, seeming being replaced by UP, which is an inferior product IMO. Guess it is time to stock up on ColorX also. Happy waxing!!!!

Blueline, if you're looking for a really effective cleaner wax give our new White Wax a try. The cleaning component is actually SMAT abrasive and durability is on par with Gold Class or ColorX (meaning well short of M16). And obviously you're not alone in your thoughts about the US domestic demise of M16, although we do still offer it internationally (we won't even get into the zany regulations that allow us to MAKE it, but not SELL it domestically!). Keep an eye out on ebay as it turns up there very now and then.Michael Stoops

On White Wax...my car is black...wouldn't Black Wax be better? Been reading about it, and seems like a good product.

Re: I know it is old. I know it is not made anymore BUT
Just get both (Black Wax & White Wax) and be done with it!Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

You mean White Wax or Black Wax compared to ColorX?
Well, all three are cleaner waxes so they're all similar in that respect. Honestly, any of them would probably do what you're trying to accomplish (trying to remove swirls from very delicate paint).
Not sure if you've seen the below graphic. It compares WW and BW to Cleaner Wax. Color X is about the same as Cleaner Wax, except it has more correcting (cleaning) ability.
So for your case, I'd say either ColorX or White Wax, but from memory you were going to top with UW anyway right? If that's the case, I'd just pick up some ColorX, it's probably easier to find.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. Re: I know it is old. I know it is not made anymore BUT
I've had ColorX in my arsenal for about 6 months now and hardly ever used it because on my personal car, I would just rather do the separate steps with UC, UP and ULW with the occasional mix of other LSP's.
However, I had to work on a friend's 2012 Acura MDX in the CBP paint and I was running out on time so decided to give ColorX a shot.
I was impressed with this bad boy. Although it didn't do much on scratches (and I wasn't expecting any), it really cleared up the oxidation and brought the black color back to life.
Now the car is parked near a cement factory and needless to say the paint has been through hell and the car was not maintained very well. With only 3000 miles on the clock, the car looked like hell.
It took me 3 hrs just to clay the car and I had to kneed the clay after every section... not panel but every section pass. The car was so bad that I really think I need to throw out that piece of clay that was used.
I wish I had taken pictures but I was really squeezed for time.
My personal car is also a 2012 Acura with the CBP paint, same year and color as the MDX, and before the job, my friend commented, there is no way the 2 cars were of the same color.
With good clay job and an application of ColorX, my friend was totally shocked at the result and now has no doubt that my car and his car are of the same color.
I will be going back in two weeks to UC/UP the car and seal with ULW, but for now, that MDX is looking new and I am thinking that ColorX should hold until that time.
Just to let you know how impressed my friend was, it was a straight deal was that I detail his MDX's exterior in return for a tint job on my car. He gave me an extra $150.
Not only that, he wants no one but me to maintain that car from now on. I am not sure if I will be doing that but he was really really impress with how the car turned out.
ColorX did a fantastic job and to be honest, I was pretty shocked a the results myself!2012 Acura CBP TL SH-AWD Tech

Re: I know it is old. I know it is not made anymore BUT
A friend of mine just passed away from a heart attack. His wife sent me home with 4 boxes of Meg's stuff (we used to detail together). He bought the products as far back as 1999. I have detailing brushes, a wash mitt, ColorX and some Medallion products. I will take a picture of the products for everyone to see. All this stuff is still sealed, and kept in a climate controlled environment. -Ed
