  • Buffer hit plasic

While using my G110v2 for the first time, I was lazy and negligent. I did not tape parts of my truck that I should have. The plastic on the bedrail and also the plastic around the tailgate handle. Now, I have a spot on each where the buffer pad hit and the plastic has a lighter black, almost gray look from where the pad hit. Can this be fixed or is it a lesson I will see daily to remind me of the importance of taping?

I doubt if you have damaged those pieces. It's possible it is just the polish, compound or even wax you were using. I wish I could offer a suggestion, but you may have to do a search of the forum for methods and products to clean the pieces off.

Is it 'bumpy' plastic? If so try using a tooth brush with some 'all purpose' type of cleaner on the affected areas.

Thanks for the replies. Bill, it is the bumpy plastic. It is a 2013 Sierra.

Well, I found the solution. Meguiars plastic restorer. It worked like a charm. You cannot even tell there was anything wrong now. Thanks Meguiars.
